Outstanding quality is no coincidence, but the result of in-depth subject-matter knowledge, profound familiarity with both source and target cultures, and not least, stringent quality control procedures.
In addition to ensuring that all other requirements are met, my quality control is based on a five-step workflow process:
1. Draft Translation
2. Research
3. Proofreading
- Comparing translation with original
- Is anything missing?
- Has everything been understood correctly?
- Everything verified (by research or otherwise)?
4. Editing/Adapting
- Does the text "flow" like the original?
- Are changes required, for cultural or other reasons?
(check with client)
5. Final honing
- Taking a step back to judge overall impression one last time,
keeping in mind: Every word needs to add value.
