"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." - Aristotle

What makes an excellent translation?

An excellent translation, besides being complete and correct, is one that reads as if it hadn't been translated.

In order to achieve this goal my stated philosophy is to:

While a quality control process may include various steps to ensure completeness and formal accuracy, there is only one way to make a translation read like an original: insight. If the translator doesn't have a thorough knowledge of the subject matter, the result will be awkward or ambiguous and the impact on the reader will be different from that of the original.

That is why I translate only in areas which I know from hands-on experience or continuous professional education. And while I have the varied background and research skills necessary to quickly grasp the basics of a new field, I will never be as comfortable as in my longstanding areas of specialization.

The same goes for my corporate interpreting services. Because of my extensive experience as an active participant in countless corporate meetings over the years, I quickly ease into even the most complex settings, ensuring that no information gets lost in the translation and communication process. All I need is a thorough briefing to ensure that my translation is based on accurate knowledge rather than guesswork.

My priority is to provide my clients with premium service in all their multilingual needs. This entails honesty in our relationship, trust, and above all two-way communication at every step of the process. When using my services you will have full confidence that I know what I'm doing. That I'm not trying to sell you something that I'm not good at or you don't need.

I invite you to browse through my site for a more detailed description of my services and background, or see a list of clients who value excellence as much as I do.

"One should really stress that everyone is extremely satisfied with your work. In particular as regards precision, judiciousness and your sense of ambiguities. Our experience with other people has shown that this is very rare."
